dix-septe

I am studying (a.k.a. a fancy word for looking at pictures of) hooked rugs.
There is some really beautiful colours in some of them that I thought I would share.

This one was made by Emily Carr. Love the yellow green background with orange details.

This one was not made by Emily Carr but was designed after one of her paintings (below).

Appropriate red and warm yellow for Polish Kings and Princes.

Orange and green-an adaptation from a childs drawing.

Orange and Green again in a basket weave pattern. This is an old piece-the person most certainly doesn't have formal art training. Complementary colours come naturally to us I guess.

Also very pretty. My eye is especially attracted to the red flowers and the green and yellow vase.

The random pattern of colours and design is known as "hit or miss" in rug hooking. I think its a hit.
